EDDHA is stabiel tot een zeer hoge pH-waarde. Een EDDHA-chelaat met 6% ijzer en een ortho-ortho (O-O) van 4,8 betekent dat het chelaat 80% stabiel ijzerchelaat bevat. Dit betekent niet dat de resterende 20% helemaal niet beschikbaar is voor de plant, maar dit zal snel neerslaan en de opname-effici\u00ebntie zal lager zijn.<\/p>\n<p>Gechelateerde sporenelementen zijn effectiever omdat de chelaatmoleculen sporenelementen beschermen tegen onoplosbaarheid en ook herkend worden door plantenenzymen (die micronutri\u00ebnten verzamelen en naar weefsels transporteren).
